Week 5: Spring Kallah Program Planning Progress

The deadline for the first drafts of our programs for Spring Kallah is tomorrow, and I have recently completed both of them. While I am not able to release them until after the event, I look forward to further developing my ideas and involving members of my region in carrying out the programs. It is essential to give aspiring leaders opportunities to develop and demonstrate their leadership skills both in NFTY, and in the workplace in order to foster growth in an organization.

The election season is upon us (in most regions across North America) and I have been helping a few aspiring leaders with their speeches. I have been approached by many colleagues who consider me qualified and experienced to read over their writing and provide feedback.  As I have mentioned in earlier posts, I am prohibited from assisting regional board candidates in my region.

With registration for the event closing next week and event planning process underway, I am going to focus on a key aspect of my project and analyze how my region functions, comparing what I do as a youth involved in a leadership position in an organization to real-world business structures.

Overall, my week has been occupied with building these programs (as Programming Vice-President of NFTY-Southwest), and I look forward to posting all of my hard work here, the week after April 7-9th. I hope to delve into how programs are made, as every organization has some method of event/initiative planning.

  1. Were you able to find an FBI agent to speak for your program?

  2. We were unable to find an FBI agent available to speak to us, however we are working on having a representative from the Anti-Defamation League coming instead to address the recent anti-semitic events taking place.
